The Waddle Walk is the first and only pregnancy after loss world awareness event.
The Waddle Walk is Pregnancy After Loss Support’s (PALS) first grassroots event to help raise funds to continue to support moms pregnant again after a loss. The Waddle Walk hopes to raise awareness about the unique experience a loss mom walks during her nine month journey navigating grief, fear and hope during a pregnancy that follows a loss.
Courageous pregnant after loss (PAL) mamas around the world can participate in raising awareness about the unique experiences and challenges of grieving one life while hoping for another during a pregnancy that follows a loss by completing a three mile for the three trimesters of pregnancy, solidarity walk in their neighborhood on the same weekend this year as other PAL moms.
What is the virtual Waddle Walk?
Since Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) is an international, primarily online organization, we wanted all of our members to be able to participate in our biggest event, the Waddle Walk. So, this will be a virtual event.
But, how does a virtual walk work?
You register, and we mail you your t-shirt.
Then you choose a spot and time for you and your team to walk three miles (for the three trimesters of pregnancy after loss) on the weekend of Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, June 30, 2019.
Create your fundraising page.
Raise funds through your team fundraising page.
Send us your Waddle Walk photos and share your photos with #WaddleWalk and #PALSWaddleWalk
Follow the Waddle Walk campaign updates at GiveLively.
I want to walk!
Great! Thank you for your willingness to support PALS and its services.
1. Register at the Waddle Walk event page at GiveLively.
General registration ($50) includes a personalized fundraising page, one Waddle Walk event t-shirt*, and your team listed on the Waddle Walk campaign page. *You must register by June 1, 2019 to guarantee a t-shirt.
Early bird registration ($40) is available until May 24, 2019.
You may order additional t-shirts for your team members. T-shirts available as maternity, adult, children’s, toddler, and infant bodysuits. See event page for price and availability.
Add your child’s name to the “In memory” on the back of the t-shirts for an additional $60. See event page for availability. Names must be submitted by May 24, 2019 to be included.
2. Plan your walk.
Choose a location for your walk. Because this is a virtual walk, there isn’t one location for the Waddle Walk. The Waddle Walk is a collection of walks put on all over the world by different courageous PAL mamas held all on the same day. Your walk location options are limitless, but some ideas include parks, the mall, walking trails, the beach, or any other place you’re free to gather.
Choose a time for your walk. Waddle Walks should be held on Saturday, June 29 or Sunday, June 30, 2019. The time is up to you!
Invite others to join you and your team. Invite those who have supported you through your loss and pregnancy after loss to also raise money and spread awareness about pregnancy after loss. You could have a picnic or BBQ before or after the walk. Do what would be most meaningful to you and your family. Have fun!
3. Raise funds for Pregnancy After Loss Support.
Create your fundraising page.
Choose a fundraising goal for your team. The overall fundraising goal for this event is $30,000: $10,000 for each trimester of pregnancy after loss.
Share your team fundraising page on social media and through email, encouraging others to donate to your walk.
Give updates to supporters leading up to the event, as well as on the day of the event. Post pictures with the hashtags #WaddleWalk and #PALSWaddleWalk so others can see who all is walking for PALS.
